DCPA the high-performance software solution for professional data capture and data processing with integrated automatic document reading and IMAGE processing.

DCPA (Data Capture and Processing Application) meets all the requirements of professional data capture and data entry, while at the same time satisfying the strictest requirements placed on subsequent processing of the data. For this purpose, DCPA provides a tool-supported programming environment. This software environment is structured in modular form and has four main areas of application:

  • Solution for professional high-speed data capture/data entry including complete validation functions
  • Development system for standard solutions
  • Replacement for Nixdorf 8850/600 users (including migration tools for programs and data)
  • Integration of Automatic Character Recognition OCR/ICR applications

DCPA supports all standards in data processing functionality, these include:

Using the integrated help functions, users can browse through files and search for particular records according to their own criteria. There is a convenient menu system that takes the user through all levels and all DCPA modules. DCPA addresses the area of data protection with features such as user authorization via passwords, the creation of statistics on users, a system logbook and individual file log books.

DCPA is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German languages. Translations or modification of the menu-text is also possible depending on each users requirement.

DCPA basic module: Development and Runtime System

The basic module contains all the basic functions: the file system, menu interface, data capture functions, including mask generators and DPL 4GL programming language. DPL (DCPA Programming Language) forms the basis for developing solutions rapidly with DCPA. In addition to the capture procedure, the acquired data may be preprocessed or processed by distributed means. Rapid program development is a large economic advantage. In this way, application bottlenecks can be avoided. Savings are also realized, as less time is required to train software developers.

DCPA DBA

DCPA contains a high-performance integrated file system. However, relational database management systems have established themselves as the standard in the open software world. Their strength lies in the relational data model. DCPA, however, is also able to maintain data ensuring efficient performance. In order to be able to avail oneself of both advantages, DCPA has full access to the relational database via embedded SQL.

DCPA C-Access Libraries

DCPA C-Access library makes it possible for software developers, by using the C functions available in DCAL, to create DCPA files or to include existing DCPA files directly in their programs.

DCPA HTML

DCPA HTML provides the integration between Intranet and Internet into DCPA. Online queries can be activated directly from out of HTML and the results can be shown in the WEB Browser, controlled with DCPA DPL.

DCPA ODBC

The DCPA add-on modules ODBC driver and ODA server enable you to access DCPA's database directly from Microsoft Office® products such as ACCESS, EXCEL, or WORD, or using Visual Basic® or Borland Delphi® etc.

DCPA IMAGE

With the DCPA IMAGE add-on module TIFF- and JPG- IMAGES can be shown in data entry. The operator can control the display of these IMAGES. With this functionality, OCR/ICR Recognition Systems can be integrated very easily into DCPA.

Automated Document Reading

FormsRec®, an innovative software product for automated character recognition and document analysis developed by Beta Systems, is the perfect supplement to DCPA - in view of economical efficiency and performance. Data automatically captured with FormsRec®can be imported directly into DCPA for correction. The data import can take place over the DCPA integrated ODBC-Interface as well as over an export file. Using the DCPA IMAGE module the correction of the data is carried out directly from the scanned document - of course the entire functionality of DCPA is still at your disposal.
